Google announced a Chrome OS in a seemingly preemptive move. The OS will be available as an open source free download later this year. The move comes as somewhat of a surprise, but not completely. Many who follow Google closely have been expecting something of the sort for a time now. The interesting part of the saga is that Microsoft is expected to make an announcement on Monday. This comes in the form of Gazelle, or at least that is what he says. Gazelle is made to function as an integrated OS and to address the security and functionality issues that IE and Chrome face running multiple processes and web apps securely. If both of these products work as advertised, this might be big. Google promises speed, usability and functionality. We will see what Microsoft has to say in their announcement.
Cheers.
Rather interesting. Has few times re-read for this purpose to remember. Thanks for interesting article. Waiting for trackback
