In preliminary tests, doctors at the University of Melbourne have found that the Wii Balance Board had such a high sensitivity that it could possibly replace traditional “force platforms” that doctors currently use to test patients’ balance.
While this is very interesting on its own, it is even more intriguing when you consider the fact that a Wii Balance Board retails for $99, while a “force platform” costs approximately $17,855. Yes, you read that correctly. The doctors were highly impressed with the build quality and instruments used in the Wii Balance Board. Well done Nintendo. Well done.
Cheers.
